DUAL DEGREE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION UCM-HWR BERLIN
The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at the UCM has established an international agreement with the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR), where Business Administration students from the English group of both universities will have the possibility to study the International Dual Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
In the 2015-2016 academic year, the Dual Degree in Business Administration and Management (ADE) program was introduced with the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht (HWR) (Berlin School of Economics and Law). As a consequence of the internationalisation strategy of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the UCM, students spend the first two years of their studies at their respective home institutions, and the following year and a half (semesters 5 to 7) at the host institution, returning to their home institution in the last semester. The international experience and the obtaining of the two Diplomas of Degree in Business Administration at both institutions (UCM and HWR) include 6 months of internship in companies. The student can study 100% of this Degree in English, although he or she can also study subjects optionally in Spanish or German.
The Faculty of Economics and Business Studies at the UCM, located on the Somosaguas Campus, is a very prestigious Faculty of Business in Spain and offers students a variety of high-quality services such as Internship Office, International Relations Office, Library, Mentoring Programme for first-year students, Conference Cycles, Training Activities, Professional Orientation Days, Entrepreneurship mentoring, etc.

Organization
Students from the dual degree in Business Administration UCM-HWR Will spend the first two academic years of study at their home institutions (Semesters 1,2, 3 and 4). Students will continue their studies at the other institution during semester 5, 6 (third year) and 7 (fourth year´s fall semester). Students will return to their home Universities to finish their studies during semester 8.
UCM and HWR Students must complete a number of 66 ECTS at the receiving institution.
Admissions and requirements
Students from the home institution registered for the dual degree programme will be eligible to participate in this programme at the host institution provided they meet the following minimum conditions:
- a) Two academic years of undergraduate studies in the field of Business Administration and Management,
- b) B2 level in English language
- c) B1 level in German language for UCM students
- d) B1 level in Spanish language for the HWR Berlin students.
- e) Commitment to finish their studies within 4 years, extendable to five years. Otherwise, they should leave the dual degree programme and continue their studies outside this agreement.

Enrolment
UCM-FCCEE students will remain enrolled at UCM during the complete 4 years. They will have the status of Erasmus student during the fifth and sixth semesters and the status of exchange students on bilateral agreement basis during their remaining exchange period at HWR Berlin. UCM-FCCEE students will be enrolled as an HWR Berlin student upon registration at HWR Berlin in their 3rd year. They will remain enrolled at HWR Berlin until they finish their studies at UCM.
HWR Berlin Students will remain enrolled at HWR Berlin during the complete 4 years. During their 3rd year at UCM, they will have the status of Erasmus student. HWR Berlin students can only register at UCM once they have been officially admitted by the Vice-Rectorate of Students after completing their academic year (3rd year of studies) at UCM via the application for the recognition of foreign qualification. In their 4th year, HWR students will remain enrolled at UCM with the additional status of exchange students on bilateral agreement basis, while completing their company internship in Spain and their final semester at HWR Berlin.
Internships
HWR and UCM students will have the opportunity of increasing the value of their CVs doing an international internship at a foreign country. The Faculty of Economics and Business has an Internship Office “Oficina de Prácticas Externas” which provides internships agreements for students.

STUDENT GUIDE FOR HWR STUDENTS
